The Specialist Services Orthotic Clinic offers a National Consultancy service for children and adolescents under the age of 18 years with a primary physical disability who have orthotic needs. This clinic was established for children with complex foot structures or lower limb alignment issues that would benefit from further consultation with an orthotist and physiotherapist in the CRC to supplement their local orthotic service. There must be agreement with the local orthotic service to refer the child for further consultation on the orthotics required to meet their need. Onward referral to CRC Video Vector Clinic is made through the Orthotic Clinic if required. This provides more in-depth analyses of the child’s orthotic based on ground reaction forces in standing and walking.
MDT Team: Clinical Specialist Orthotist, Physiotherapist
