An important update about the future of the CRC swimming pool. February 20, 2025 We recognise that the CRC pool has a special place in the history of our organisation and in the wider community. We also recognise that in order to ensure the long-term future of this valued amenity, we need to ensure it is sustainably resourced and managed. The CRC is a voluntary organisation working with children and adults with disabilities. We are committed to ensuring the people we serve receive the best possible service. To do this, we need to ensure that all our operations run as efficiently and sustainably as possible. This includes the CRC swimming pool.To ensure continued access to this important facility, we launched a public tender process in 2024. iSwim Academy, a swimming school specialising in swimming lessons and water safety education, was the successful applicant to this public tender process. From the 1st of March, iSwim Academy will lead the management and day-to-day operations of the CRC pool. We recognise that this change may cause some disruption as we move from one structure to another. However, we hope you will be pleased to learn that this new agreement will see several positive developments for the valued users of the CRC pool. These include the following enhancements: An increase in the number of days the CRC pool is open to the public: from 5 days currently to 7 days An increase in the number of hours the CRC pool is open each day At the same time, we are pleased to confirm that the CRC pool will continue to provide the people we serve with dedicated access, public swimming lessons, life-saving classes, and inclusive swims for families, adults and children. We are looking forward to seeing you in the CRC pool again soon and invite you to keep an eye on our website and our social media channels for more details on our new extended opening hours and enhanced service offering coming soon!
