sensors on legs

What we do

In the Gait Laboratory, we use computer images to examine how you walk. We stick electronic sensors on your body to track information and we send this information to our computers. Using technology this way is of great benefit in treating children and adults with disabilities such as cerebral palsy.

The information helps your doctors, surgeons and therapists to

  • Decide what causes your walking difficulties
  • Make decisions about your treatment
  • Monitor your progress
  • Evaluate how different treatments have helped you

Our CRC Gait Laboratory is the only internationally accredited  3-dimensional gait laboratory in the Republic of Ireland.
